Attended a meeting of Phoenix Black MBA. I met some interesting people. I'm considering joining and will be going to a Diamondbacks baseball game with them next week. I gave a tour to 6 people who are in Air Force delayed enlistment program visiting from southern California. Went to Sprint store to take a look at the Instinct. I really liked it but not willing to spend $230 on it. Since I've been a loyal Sprint customer I would get $100 rebate. Returned ground beef that I bought from Frys (owned by Kroger). I bought it awhile ago and had it in the freezer before they had their recall. Washed Karate uniform at the Laundromat. Only one other family there and of course they were using the washing machine that I wanted. I was in Wal-Mart buying groceries and supplies. I was looking for school supplies for annual fundraiser Backpacks of Love. I lost my shopping cart. No big deal, but I had my recycled shopping bags in there. I looked around for 20 minutes. Finally a clerk found it for me. It wasn't where I put it. I went jogging Saturday early morning and didn't see Lady Death. I did the entire Old Course and it felt great.
Week Ending 27 July 08Return of the Nightmare of the Week: I was in prison and six of us escaped and got away. I don't remember any of the other jailbirds but one of the guards was a co-worker! Saw The Dark Knight. Mixed feelings about it. Some people were saying it was the greatest thing ever. I liked it and thought Heath Ledger did excellent work, overall the movie wasn't that exciting to me. Since I went to Westgate, I had to drink a Black & Tan. X-Files movie came out this week. I'm debating with myself should I go and see it. I loved the show but I started watching around Season 3 and I liked Monster-of-the-Week episodes rather than the Mythology/Conspiracy episodes. Will wait until it's at the $3 Show. WNBA's Detroit Shock in a brawl with LA Sparks. That's how we do in Motown! Went jogging on Monday and Saturday mornings. Monday I was about 8 minutes in and I saw an older female power-walking. I said hello. When I turned on my street I saw her again. Later that afternoon I saw her again when I was driving to Karate school. Then I saw her AGAIN Wednesday morning when I was leaving for work! I renamed her Lady Death.
Week Ending 20 July 08Talked with my youngest niece Mikel on her 4th birthday. Spoke with my brother Michael. He's watching TV show the Shield from the first season. I went back and watched second-to-last season 4 episode with Glenn Close. It had one of the best scenes in TV history. I got filling a couple weeks ago and my mouth still hurts. So I went to the Dentist. He took a look then shaved down one of my fillings and gave me antibiotics and pain pills. My right ear also hurts so on Thursday I went to the Urgent Care clinic and got a stronger antibiotic plus ear drops. Lazy weekend. Huge rainstorm Saturday night/Sunday morning. Driving rain, lightning and thunder woke me up.
Week Ending 13 July 08Went to see Hancock. Thought it was a good summer popcorn movie. Co-worker thought there was too much cussing. TV show Scare Tactics started its new season. Practiced using my sword in backyard. We got a lot of rain Thursday night. Saturday morning did a jogging session. I haven't done that in a while and it felt good. Helped out with Karate testing at my school. Afterwards went to Sonic Drive-In and got an Island Fire burger and I liked it. Very sorry to hear about Tony Snow dying on Saturday.
